Impact - The Exciting World of Stereo Sound (1968)

Amazingly, this stereo showcase compilation still sounds quite innovative. (Is anyone still doing stereo experimentation, or is it all 4.1. Surround Sound ?)
First up, Ritual Fire Dance. I love a bit of De Falla. I also love accordions, so this was a no-brainer. I'm not sure whether in the final analysis the accordion detracts from the fieriness, but its novelty value begs for inclusion here.   Ritual Fire Dance - Jack Emblow, accordion (1968) The only other non-orchestral interpretation I've heard that even comes close is Alicia de Larrocha's. Change of tone now. Wheels - Norman Petty (1968) This seems to be the version everyone knows. Actually, until I posted this I hadn't noticed that Petty is co-credited with writing it (with Richard Stephens and Jimmy Torres). I guess it's a piece of fluff, but to find out that it's a piece of fluff that once had a home means something to me.
