It contains multitudes (of cheesy crap) but there is something spirited – and, dare I say it, “cool” – about this at times amateurish instrumental tribute to the Four Horsemen of the Popocalypse.

A Hard Day's Night
A walking bass unhurriedly plods along, while a flute drawls the tune in a fashion so laid-back it’s horizontal, echoed lazily by a string section.
Eleanor Rigby
They decided to do this one uptempo, with a shrill organ stabbing at the melody before an awkward pause at the transition from verse to chorus. At about 1:20 there is a drum break that is just begging to be sampled. At one point the organist comically misses the cue for the verse.
Michelle
A viola wrings out the melody, an organ plays the melody in a style that is the bastard son of Bach and George Shearing. The strings are lovely on this one.
She's Leaving Home
This time the organ plays arpeggios while the strings provide both the gorgeous melody and a haunting accompaniment.
This Boy
I love the decision to have a baritone sax on this one. The perfect instrument to bring out the doo-wop roots of the song.
