I just thought I'd point you to a blog hosting a recreation of The Beach Boys' Smile (or, if you insist, SMiLE, you hippie) from the original tapes.
It's a idea I'm quite envious of: simply aggregate all the scattered Smile demos (from bootlegs and existing albums like Smiley Smile and Friends) into an album that follows the tracklist for the more recent album put out by Wilson.
It's still not Pet Sounds (hardly a criticism, I know), but I definitely prefer all the original versions to the album he put out in 2004, so here's the link on the well-named site Music To Take Drugs To.
